“We’re going to hire an Agile Coach to come solve all of our problems!”
That’s not what I’m here to do.
What I am here to do is to help you step back and reflect on what your problems are. On what’s causing them. And how can you start to solve them yourself.
I could come in and tell you exactly what to do.
But I might get it wrong because I don’t have the knowledge of history and context that you do.
Or I might get it right and then create a dependency. Instead of coaching people to recognize and take steps towards their own problems, I do it for them. And they don’t get to learn how to be self-managing.
In other words, instead of teaching people to fish, I’m fishing for them. And I don’t even like fishing.
What if your organization isn’t willing to learn how to fish?
You might not be ready to hire an Agile Coach.
But if you do want a sustainable way for your organization to start to identify and own steps towards improvement, that’s what I’m here for. That is the role of an Agile Coach.
Maybe minus the fish.
